As I noted in the previous post; I’m just starting to use Substack; so there are quite a few teething problems.
Many, many years ago I read a book (published not long after the 1967 “Six Day War” entitled “If Israel Lost The War." It was a counterfactual/alternate history novel whose central premise was that in 1967; Israel under pressure, refrained from undertaking the preemptive attacked which destroyed the Egyptian and Syrian airforces.
Instead the Arabs struck first and Israel was defeated in that 1967 War. And with that defeat in 1967; came the termination of the Jewish State.
Personally I don't think anything has really changed. And paraphrasing Golda Meir (and many other Israelis): If Israel just lost just one war, one time; that's the end of Israel.
Israel’s destruction might be a cause of joy for some Jewish haters of Israel (although without Israel; they might experience a deep disorientation, about where to focus). But I think most Jews think would care deeply. And all Jews whether they know it now or not; would be deeply impacted by a World without Israel. And I think the World would be a lot worse off without Israel. Just as the World would be lot less worse-off without Jews in the World. Even though there are just 15 million+ in a World Population of over 8 billion people. And yet the Antisemites obsess about the Jews. Am YisraeAml Chai
